When Cloudflare went down on November 18th, 2025, we spent hours debugging our "down" sites only to discover it wasn't our fault. That frustration led to StayUp.
It started around 11:20 UTC when the alerts began flooding in. All our client sites were down. X (Twitter), ChatGPT, Spotify - massive platforms offline. We opened our monitoring dashboard and saw nothing but red across the board. Panic set in.
We restarted servers. Checked configurations. Rolled back deployments. Nothing worked. Our monitoring tool just kept screaming "DOWN! DOWN! DOWN!" but gave us zero insight into why. We were flying blind.
After hours of debugging, we finally found the answer: Cloudflare's Bot Management system had a bug where a feature file doubled in size, exceeding their software's size limit. Our infrastructure was fine the whole time. We'd wasted hours because our monitoring tool couldn't tell the difference between our server failing and a CDN issue.
That day, still running on caffeine and frustration, we started building what we wish we'd had. A monitoring tool that actually diagnoses issues. One that can tell you "Your site is down because Cloudflare is down, not because of your infrastructure." One that gives you actionable insights, not just panic-inducing alerts.
No developer should waste hours debugging phantom issues. No business should lose customers because they couldn't diagnose a third-party problem. We're building monitoring that tells you what's wrong and whose fault it is.
Not just "it's down" but "DNS failing at Cloudflare" or "SSL cert expired"
£9/month instead of £500+. Monitoring shouldn't cost more than your hosting
We use this ourselves daily. Every feature solves a real problem we've faced
